President’s Message after County Meeting
Howdy all! Yesterday’s meeting with the County Commissioners went very well! Thank you to all who were able to attend; your presence had a huge impact! One of the first comments I heard from County officials was, “wow, there are a lot of people here.” There truly is strength in numbers. Thank you again! The Redcliffs Rifle and Pistol Range is, and will continue long into the future, “in business!” Our contract is being amended and renewed as we speak, and we were told in the meeting yesterday that we should receive the amended contract within the next two weeks. Amendments to the contract include: agreement with SUPS to share the D bays, an updated map to show newly constructed bays, a clearly defined chain of command to resolve any future disagreement, and time for arbitration to resolve any disagreement before contract termination. Also, we will have a quarterly meeting with a County representative and each range to discuss improvements, scheduling, and other activities. The overall goal as stated by commissioners Iverson and Almquist is to provide a safe, convenient location where the public, particularly the youth, may come to learn, practice, train, and exercise their 2nd Amendment rights, thus ensuring the preservation of all our Constitutional rights. As your Interim President, I would like to say that this is my motivation as well – the right to keep and bear arms is essential to the preservation of a free society. We cannot let bickering and disagreements come between us as individuals. After all, we are all on the same team. All of the ranges in our local shooting sports complex have a place. My challenge to all of us is that we support and encourage the success of us all. God bless you all, and God bless the United States of America! Dorian A.
