Col. Francis Smith, who sought to seize militia weapons in Concord, Massachusetts. Despite being mostly farmers and tradesmen, around 580 militiamen stood their ground on Lexington Green. Ordered not to fire, Captain John Parker famously declared, “Don’t fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have war, let it begin here.” The first shot—“the shot heard ’round the world”—soon ignited the battle. After ransacking Concord, the British were met at the North Bridge by Minutemen using guerrilla tactics, forcing their retreat to Boston. This courageous stand became a defining moment in America’s fight for independence. Shoot will be six (6) steel targets at ranges from 165 to 135.
