North Star Red Cliffs Rifle & Pistol Range - Bay A-7 PLEASE SIGN IN AND PAY ($10.00) AT THE OFFICE BEFORE COMING TO A-7. This Match will be for non-magnum caliber pistols and P.C.C.s. We will be shooting at a variety of steel targets, some static and some reactionary. The distances will vary from 10-15 yards. The scoring will be HIT or MISS with a one-second time penalty for all misses. The round count for each string will be 18 providing you have no misses. Make-up shots are allowed and encouraged. The starting position will be at the shooters' discretion. If you want to draw from a holster or start from low ready or low guard that is fine. If you complete the course of fire you will have an opportunity to take a single shot at a bonus target. If you should choose to do so it will be on the clock. Should you hit the bonus target, you will receive a 5-second time reduction. New shooters, youngsters, and any guest shooters are welcome to participate. Redcoats on the Run On April 19, 1775, American Patriots confronted British troops led by Lt. Col. Francis Smith, who sought to seize militia weapons in Concord, Massachusetts. Despite being mostly farmers and tradesmen, around 580 militiamen stood their ground on Lexington Green. Ordered not to fire, Captain John Parker famously declared, "Don't fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have war, let it begin here." The first shot—“the shot heard 'round the world”—soon ignited the battle. After ransacking Concord, the British were met at the North Bridge by Minutemen using guerrilla tactics, forcing their retreat to Boston. This courageous stand became a defining moment in America’s fight for independence. Shoot will be six (6) steel targets at ranges from 165 to 135. NBRSA Try Out Southern Utah Benchrest Shooters This event offers a welcoming introduction to NBRSA Benchrest, taking place alongside this year’s first Registered NBRSA Match. No need to worry about NBRSA rifle regulations—muzzle brakes, magazine-fed and semi-automatic rifles, bore sizes larger than .338, and rifles over 13.5 pounds are all permitted. Participants get assigned to benches 1-12 on the 100-yard side of the Red Cliffs Range. Five targets provided, you post and retrieve your own, and score your own for bragging rights and your trophy wall. All while firing during regular Registered Match range commands and time limits with the match competitors on benches 15-23. All shooting finishes when the Registered Match ends. NBRSA Registered Match Southern Utah Benchrest Shooters The game in shooting is PRECISE accuracy using a well-tuned rifle and keen wind-doping skills to wipe out a tiny dot at the center of each target. The heaviest “Heavy Varmint” rifles cannot weigh more than 13-1/2 pounds. Maximum bore diameter is 0.338”/8.59mm.
