1 event,The intent of CMP Games As-Issued Pistol Match rules is to provide pistol competitions where competitors can use original, as-issued or replica military or police type semi-automatic pistols. The spirit of these pistol matches is to offer competitions that are restricted to issue or stock pistols without specialized accurizing features. This is to ensure that the pistols used are affordable and accessible to the greatest possible numbers of competitors. Any pistol configuration or item of equipment that is not mentioned in these rules or that is contrary to the intent and spirit of these rules is prohibited. Note: This match follows the CMP rules and format but is not officially sanctioned/registered with the CMP. Red Cliffs Rifle & Pistol Range - Bay D-4 10:00 am - 3:00 pm PLEASE SIGN IN AND PAY ($10.00) AT THE OFFICE BEFORE COMING TO D-4 Pfc Joe Mann was a paratrooper in the 502nd Parachute infantry, 101st Airborne Division, who jumped into Best, Netherlands in mid-September of 1944. His Company (H) was deployed to hold a bridge and road in preparation for the (failed) British planned "Operation Market Garden". Pfc Mann single-handedly destroyed an enemy emplacement and rained fire on German troops from an exposed position with his M1 rifle, despite being wounded 5 times. Even though gravely wounded, 22-year-old Mann insisted on serving guard duty that evening. The next morning, during a counterattack, a German grenade was thrown into his pit. Unable to get out, Pfc Mann smothered the blast with his body saving his brother troops. For this action, he received 5 Purple Hearts and the Medal of Honor. This shoot is for M1 rifles only. All steel. Best time. From a sandbagged bunker you will engage 4 steel plates at 140 yds (approx). No misses should require only 1 reload so accuracy pays off! Targets will be engaged left to right only and repeated 4 times for a minimum of 16 shots. First run is your timed run but repeat runs are available for the best overall time! |
